We Are Looking for More Great People! Apply to Be Member of the CCTA Board of Directors
It is getting close to that time of year that the CCTA holds its annual banquet and business meeting and installs a new board of directors. We are looking for more great people to join our board and want everyone who has an interest to have a chance to apply. Below are answers to the questions you might have.
Why would I want to be on the Board? It’s a great chance to give back to the sport and help others have a chance to play tennis. We sponsor grassroots programs for kids, Special Olympics, new adult players and wheelchair players and are always looking for new groups to bring into tennis. Plus we are a fun bunch!
What would I be doing? The Board meets at noon on the 3rd Wednesday of each month. Members are expected to attend the hour-long meeting. All Board members will be working at our sanctioned tournaments throughout the year and each person will choose at least one committee to serve on. Our biggest fundraisers are the year-end banquet and the US Open ticket give away. We have lots of opportunities to give back!
How long would my commitment be? Each board member’s term is 3 years.
Do I have to be a great tennis player? Absolutely not! We are looking for great hearts and great minds, not great forehands! We want representation from all levels, ages and types of players! Or non-players who want to help promote the sport and overall health of the community.
How do I get to be a board member? Print and complete the form at the link below and email it to firstname.lastname@example.org by November 25, 2016. We will be in touch really soon after that–the banquet is on December 1st! If we have more applicants than we have spots, we will put you on a committee and eventually you will roll around to being a board member.
So get started now by clicking the link below and get your friends to sign up too! We look forward to hearing from you.
